**Georgian Government Backs Out of Joint Working Group**
The Georgian government has decided not to take part in a joint working group with the Council of Europe. This decision was made due to “changed circumstances”.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, a high-ranking official, the reason for this change is that the Georgian government no longer wants to work on amending the law related to foreign influence.
This decision has implications for the country‘s relations with other international organizations. The Council of Europe was involved in monitoring Georgia‘s efforts to strengthen its laws and institutions.
The details of the “changed circumstances” were not provided by Kobakhidze. However, it is clear that the Georgian government has chosen to go it alone on this matter.
