**PM Claims Opposition Refuses Public Discussion Due to Fear of Truth**
Georgia‘s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that two opposition leaders, Mikheil Janelidze and Tina Khidasheli, refused to participate in a public discussion. He claimed this was because they were afraid of facing the truth.
Kobakhidze stated that the opposition knows it has nothing to say about the current events or government decisions. He added that Janelidze and Khidasheli had planned not to attend the public discussion from the beginning.
**A Planned Refusal**
The Prime Minister said that Janelidze and Khidasheli initially agreed to participate in a debate on the Public Broadcaster, but later released statements on social media refusing to take part. Kobakhidze claimed this was because they were looking for excuses not to discuss the issues.
He also stated that his government had offered several formats for the discussion, including one-on-one and group discussions, but the opposition leaders continued to refuse. The Prime Minister said this was because they knew their arguments would be refuted.
**Fear of Losing Propaganda Ground**
Kobakhidze argued that a public discussion would have exposed the lies on which the radical opposition’s propaganda is based. He claimed that by refusing to participate, Janelidze and Khidasheli are trying to protect their propaganda efforts.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that his government had offered similar public discussions in the past, but the opposition refused. He said this was because they were aware of the truth and did not want to face it publicly.
