Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze spoke about American Congressman Joe Wilson‘s statement.
Wilson said that if Bidzina Ivanishvili destroys Georgia‘s democracy on December 29, he should expect a response he could never imagine. Kobakhidze did not take this seriously. He said that politicians who do not tell the truth have no effect on Georgian society.
Kobakhidze thinks Wilson was activated by someone to create the perception of continued problems under President Trump‘s terms. He expects something different from the new administration. Georgia wants a fresh start in its strategic partnership with the US, and for both countries to take pragmatic steps forward.
The current relationship between Georgia and the US is not healthy. Kobakhidze hopes that the new administration will make reciprocal efforts to improve it.
