Irakli Kobakhidze is the head of Georgian Dream’s election headquarters. He declared that the upcoming polls are equivalent to a vote where citizens will reject war for peace, reject immoral propagandists and embrace traditional values and reject the dark history in favor of a brighter European Future. Kobakhidze, speaking in Kutaisi outlined the vision of the party for Georgia’s future development, stressing that peace is at the core of progress.
Kobakhidze, speaking at a Kutaisi campaign event, described the upcoming elections in Georgia as a pivotal time in the country’s history. He said that the elections are not just ordinary elections, but also a referendum on the future of the nation. He expressed his confidence that Georgians would once again choose peace and traditional values over “immoral propaganda” and a European Future over the dark past represented in the opposition. He called on people to rally around the Georgian Dream Party for continued peace and prosper.

These include a tripling in the GDP of the country, a halving in unemployment, and major investment in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
“In exactly one weeks, decisive, referendum-like elections will be held. The Georgian people will reject war once again and choose peace. They will reject immoral propaganda, and choose traditional values. They will reject the dark past, and choose the bright future of Georgia, which is a European future,” Kobakhidze said to the crowd.
Kobakhidze emphasized Imereti’s historical and cultural significance, especially its role in forming Georgia’s national identitiy. He praised Kutaisi residents and those in the surrounding area for their contributions to Georgian sports, arts, science, and the fight for independence.
He credited Bidzina, the founder and honorary chairperson of Georgian Dream for leading Georgia from what he called a dictatorial regime in 2012 to a new era of freedom. Kobakhidze reminded his audience of the difficult times before 2012, accusing opposition of human rights violations, rigging of elections, and losing 20 percent of Georgia’s land.
“We must always remind ourselves that only peace allows the country to develop in all directions.” The Georgian people will, of course, not allow [the dark history] to return.
Kobakhidze then went on to list all the achievements that Georgian Dream has made. He said that the GDP of the country has increased from 28 billion GEL in 2012 to 90 billion GEL with projections reaching 130 billion GEL in 2028. He also stated that Georgia’s budget grew from 8.5 billion GEL in 2012 to nearly 28 billion GEL during the same period.
Kobakhidze also focused on employment, highlighting that 170,000 jobs were created in the past two and a quarter years. He plans to create another 200,000 jobs over the next four. He predicted that unemployment would drop below 4%. This would be lower than EU rates.
Kobakhidze said, “We have reduced the unemployment rate in Georgia by half, and we will lower it to the European Union average in the next four-year period.”
He also touched on other important areas of development such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and foreign direct investments.
