Irakli Kobakhidze is the Prime Minister of Georgia. He dismissed the idea of a “technical” government led by opposition as absurd. He emphasized that his party, Georgian Dream has a high approval rate of approximately 60%.
He said that discussing the possibility of technical government in such circumstances is nothing but a farce.
Kobakhidze said that, even if the plan was not fully implemented, it would only halt progress in the country for one year and could lead to more instability, possibly war. He reiterated that elections would be held as usual and a normal government formed after the first session in the new Parliament at the end or beginning of November.
Kobakhidze said that the plan, which is not written but is presented, would stop the country for exactly one full year and, during this time, it would involve the country in war or disturb the country.
