Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, spoke to journalists about the country’s opposition. He said that being an oppositionist in Georgia is often a way out for people with problems.
According to Kobakhidze, many people use being part of the opposition as a way to avoid trouble. He claimed that some members of the radical opposition have been found guilty by courts, including the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. This, he said, makes it hard for the radical opposition to succeed in Georgian politics.
The public sees everything that happens, Kobakhidze stated. Therefore, people don’t believe in the radical opposition’s claims and ideas. As a result, they have little chance of achieving their goals in Georgian politics.
