Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that the government would create special statuses to encourage growth in the technology industry for innovative startups, SME’s, and R&D companies.
“For example, it is the status for an innovative startup, a status for an innovative small or medium-sized business, a status for a research and developing company, and tax benefits will be determined to stimulate the growth of this sector. It is also intended to train and fund 160 startups each year, as well as to train 12000 trainees. The government will also actively work in three special areas, including artificial intelligence, phages and agro-technologies, over the next four years. We expect to see serious results here as well”, said Irakli Kobakhidze.
He also mentioned a forthcoming presentation of the Kutaisi Technological hub, which will be located in the former Kutaisi parliament building, and will serve as a technopark that hosts international tech companies.
