**Georgia Aims to Join EU by 2030**
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, has presented the government program to Parliament. He announced that the goal is to join the European Union (EU) by 2030.
To achieve this goal, the government will take into account all conditions set by the EU that do not go against national interests. However, there are limits related to dignity that must be respected by both Georgia and the EU.
**Respecting Dignity**
Kobakhidze stated that the EU has to prove it respects Georgian dignity. He emphasized that moving towards Europe in peace is crucial for his country. The Prime Minister also stressed that the EU must protect national interests and traditional values.
**Economic Progress**
The government program aims to improve the well-being of the population, with a focus on economic progress. However, Kobakhidze clarified that specific people have tried to mislead public opinion by suggesting that joining the EU comes before achieving welfare. In fact, it’s the opposite: Georgia must reach a certain level of welfare first and then be considered for EU membership.
**EU Must Prove Its Commitment**
The Prime Minister criticized the European Parliament‘s resolution demanding sanctions on Georgia, which could lead to economic collapse. Kobakhidze called on the EU to prove that its goal is for Georgia to develop economically and progress continuously, while protecting peace and dignity.
**Government Pledge**
Kobakhidze pledged transparency in fulfilling the government program. He assured that the country will move forward consistently, protect national interests, and join the EU. The Prime Minister emphasized that respect for dignity and prosperity are essential for both Georgia and the EU to achieve their goals.
