At the briefing, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that we received a total of approximately one million 120 000 votes. This is a record since 2012.
Georgian Dream is only 43% behind the second-placed candidate, he said.
“We told our society that the election was equal to the referendum and was equal in importance to the 20121 election. This message was delivered to the voters in a precise manner. This was the reason for the unprecedented activity that occurred during these parliamentary election. The victory is impressive. The difference between us and the second-place party is only 43%. Kobakhidze said, “The second-place party is five times behind us.”
According to Prime Minister, the 26th October elections were decisive for this country.
“It was an important election for our nation, in which the fate of maintaining our country’s peace was decided. The Georgian people chose the only alternative, they chose the peace and development of their country, a brighter future for the nation. I want to thank the Georgians, the voters, and the Georgian Society, for all the years that they stood by us, even in the most difficult times. Elections are an important moment in the life of every country. Even in the most crucial moments, the Georgians stood by us and made a choice that was the only alternative,” said Kobakhidze.
