**Georgian Citizens May Not Obey New Laws**
The Georgian government, led by “Georgian Dream,” is planning to change some laws. These changes include stricter rules for protests and fines for certain behaviors.
According to Irakli Kupradze, a leader of the opposition party “Strong Georgia,” these new laws are more severe than those in Russia under Vladimir Putin‘s rule. He believes that Georgian citizens will not obey these anti-democratic laws.
**Planned Changes**
Some of the changes include:
* Protests held without permission will be banned.
* Fines for certain behaviors, like vandalism and disobeying police officers, will increase.
* The time people can spend in detention will go up to 60 days.
* Verbal insults towards government officials will become an administrative offense.
**Criminal Code Changes**
The changes to the Criminal Code include:
* People who call for violence will face up to three years in prison.
* Punishments for resisting, threatening, or hurting police officers will increase.
* Those who attack or threaten government officials and their families will also face harsher penalties.
Kupradze believes that Georgian citizens will not obey these new laws. He thinks that the Russian regime is an example of what can happen when such laws are implemented.
