**Comment on Mamuka Khazaradze‘s Statement**
The Chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs Committee, Irakli Zarkua, has made some strong comments about Mamuka Khazaradze. Zarkua said that Khazaradze has never been a defender of Georgia‘s and the Georgian people’s interests.
**Khazaradze Serves Foreign Patrons**
According to Zarkua, a “lustration” – or an investigation – had taken place regarding who and how Khazaradze serves. Zarkua stated that he believes Khazaradze has always served foreign patrons and entered politics as their representative.
**The Panama Case**
Zarkua also referenced the Panama case, where Khazaradze was found guilty by an international court. The court ruled that Khazaradze owed 600 thousand dollars to Georgia. Zarkua jokingly told Khazaradze to “bring the money” and use it for good causes like gardens and schools.
**Khazaradze’s Statement on US Pressure**
The leader of “Strong Georgia,” Mamuka Khazaradze, had previously stated that the USA should exert pressure on the “Georgian Dream‘s” regime in order to protect its geopolitical interests. He also mentioned the Panama case as an example of successful pressure from Trump’s new administration.
