IRI Poll: Former Prime Minister Gakharia Retains a High Personal Rating

According to the International Republican Institute’ (IRI) 2021 pre-election poll, former Prime has a high rating.
Giorgi Gakharia has been deemed acceptable by 56% of respondents.
According to the survey, 88% like the patriarch, 58% the Tbilisi mayor candidate, Kakha ; 56% the former prime minister, Giorgi Gakharia; and 40% the current prime minister, Irakli Garibashvili.
IRI states that data was collected in between 15, 2021 and June 30, 2021 through face-toface interviews at respondents’ homes.
The sample consisted 1,500 permanent Georgian residents who were 18 years old and eligible to vote. This is representative of the population in terms of age, gender and region. The margin of error is not more than plus or minus 2,5%. The response rate was 74%.
Giorgi Gakharia, the former PM of Georgia, resigned in February 2021 because of differences of opinion about the arrest of Nika Melia, the leader of the UNM Party.
After his resignation, he established a new political group called ‘ Georgia’, noting that they “are uniting for Georgia but against no one.”
