CEC’s explanations on voting discrepancies are not enough, says “International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy“.
The organization says that the Central Election Commission (CEC) has not provided clear answers to their questions about the October 26 parliamentary elections. Despite holding two briefings, the CEC failed to explain the significant differences in voter turnout between men and women.
According to the latest data from the CEC, there are 275 polling stations where the difference in voter activity between men and women is over 20 percentage points. In some of these stations, men are making up 77% of voters while women make up only 48%. The organization believes that this is unnatural and may indicate manipulation.
The CEC initially explained that inaccuracies in data from precinct election commissions were the cause of the discrepancies at 11 polling stations. However, they did not provide accurate data on voter activity by gender, making it unclear how many male and female voters participated in voting at these stations.
The “International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy” is calling on the CEC to provide complete answers to their questions, including receipts and reports from polling stations, and verifiably accurate information about the gender composition of voters participating in the elections.
