Fighting between Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah resumed on Monday, breaking a brief period of calm after a weekend of intense strikes. According to state media and witnesses, Israeli attacks targeted the Lebanese border village of Tair Harfa and the coastal city of Sidon, with reports of a car being hit in the latter strike. In a video broadcast on the Hezbollah-controlled Al Manar TV, leader Hassan Nasrallah stated on Sunday that the group had delayed their response to the killing of one of their commanders in Beirut in order to allow for potential ceasefire negotiations.
