**Israel Expels Residents from West Bank Refugee Camps**
Israel has stepped up its operation in the Palestinian territories. The country‘s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, said that three refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams are now “empty”. The Israeli military will occupy these areas for the next year.
**Thousands Forced to Leave Their Homes**
According to the UN, 40,000 Palestinians have been forced to leave their homes in these camps. This operation started on January 21st and has intensified over the past few weeks. The Palestinian Authority condemned this move.
**Military Operation Intensifies**
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have deployed a tank division around the city of Jenin for the first time since 2002. The IDF said they are expanding their military activity to fight terrorism. They are using drones, tanks, special forces, border police, and Shin Bet operatives.
**Casualties Mount**
The UN reported that 51 Palestinians, including seven children, have been killed since the operation began on January 21st. Three Israeli soldiers were also killed. The settlements in these areas are considered illegal under international law, although Israel disputes this.
