**Israeli Forces Recover Body of Soldier Held in Gaza**
The Israeli military has recovered the body of a soldier who was held hostage by Hamas since 2014. Staff Sgt Oron Shaul’s remains were found during a secret operation by Israeli forces and the Shin Bet security service in Gaza.
Shaul was killed in combat during the 2014 Gaza war, but his family had not been able to recover his body until now. The identification procedure was carried out by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Military Rabbinate.
**Gaza Hostage Deal Delayed**
The recovery of Shaul’s body comes as a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas has been delayed. The deal, which includes the release of hostages held by Hamas, was meant to be implemented on Sunday morning but has not happened yet.
Hamas is holding three other Israelis who were seized before its attack on Israel in October 2023. Two of them are believed to still be alive: Ethiopian-Israeli Avera Mengistu and Bedouin Arab Israeli Hisham al-Sayed, who were captured in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
