**Israeli Strike Kills Hamas Leader at Gaza Hospital**
An Israeli air strike hit a hospital in Gaza on Sunday evening, killing a senior Hamas leader and an aide. Ismail Barhoum was the head of Hamas’s financial affairs. He was being treated at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis after being hurt in a previous strike.
Barhoum was inside the hospital when it was struck by Israel’s military. The Israeli army said they had targeted a key Hamas member who was hiding inside the hospital compound. They claimed to have used precise munitions to minimize harm, but many others were injured.
The hospital department hit was evacuated after a big part of it was destroyed. Footage shows people trying to put out a fire after the strike.
**Many Casualties in Gaza**
At least 30 people had been killed in Khan Younis and Rafah by Sunday morning before the hospital strike. Another Hamas leader, Salah al-Bardaweel, was killed in a separate Israeli air strike on Sunday.
Israel has repeatedly said that Hamas uses hospitals as places to hide weapons and command centers. But Hamas denies this.
**Military Campaign Continues**
Israel’s military campaign in Gaza resumed on March 18 after a nearly two-month ceasefire ended. Since then, many people have been hurt or killed in the conflict.
