**US and UK May Lift Restrictions on Ukraine’s Long-Range Missiles**
The United States, the UK, and France may let Ukraine use their long-range missiles to attack Russian military targets. This is according to a report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) on November 18.
**Restrictions in Place**
For months, these countries have not allowed Ukraine to use their long-range missiles like ATACMS and Storm Shadow to attack deep inside Russia. This was done to avoid “escalation”. But now, it seems that restrictions may be lifted.
**US Officials Refuse to Confirm**
The US has refused to confirm whether they have approved Ukraine’s use of ATACMS missiles for strikes on military targets within Russian territory. Despite this, media reports claim that the US, UK, and France have lifted their restrictions.
**Russia Reacts Angerly**
Russian officials are angry about the possible authorization. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said it would be a “qualitative” change in US participation in the war. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs threatened retaliation if Ukraine were to use long-range missiles on Russian territory.
**Ukrainian President Remains Silent**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy avoided confirming or denying the reports. He simply said that “strikes are not carried out with words”. US Deputy National Security Advisor Jonathan Finer also refused to confirm, but blamed Russia’s actions for the conflict‘s escalation.
