Nikkei reports that Prodrone, an industrial drone manufacturer in , plans to supply Ukraine its drones to demine humanitarian areas.
Tokyo has helped with mine clearance efforts in the past. Japan provided four ALIS systems for searching mines, and 50 metal detectors. In addition, Ukrainian experts have received demining training from Japan.
Prodrone plans to supply Ukraine drones that can operate 50 cm above ground. Ukrainian specialists will develop their mine detection technology. This is expected to include artificial intelligence and allow a drone to mark detected landmines on an interactive map. The Japanese company hopes to start drone deliveries to Ukraine in the next year.
UkrInform reports that Prodrone manufactures unmanned aircraft for high-resolution aerial monitoring of specific land areas, such as construction and mining, inspection of infrastructure objects, such as bridges, dams and tunnels, as well as cargo transportation and logistics.
