**Vice-President‘s Cousin Criticises Trump and Vance**
US Vice-President JD Vance’s cousin, Nate Vance, has spoken out against his cousin and President Donald Trump for their handling of a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Nate Vance was not happy with the way the White House meeting had been handled. He said that Trump and his cousin had “belittled” Zelensky during the meeting, which turned heated.
The meeting took place in February. Trump threatened to withdraw support from Ukraine if a deal was not made, and accused Zelensky of “gambling with World War Three”.
Nate Vance said that he did not agree with his cousin’s view that Zelensky had failed to show appreciation for America‘s support during the war.
**US Mediates in Ukraine Conflict**
The US is currently trying to mediate a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Officials are in Saudi Arabia discussing a possible agreement.
Last month, the US held direct talks with Moscow on ending the three-year war. Nate Vance, who spent three years volunteering with the Ukrainian military, said that he was disappointed by his cousin’s handling of the meeting.
**Criticism of Trump Administration**
Nate Vance also criticised the Trump administration for halting military aid and satellite imagery to Ukraine after the meeting.
He said that the decision had been made in response to Zelensky’s request for continued support. Nate Vance called it “an ambush of absolute bad faith”.
**Republican Speaks Out Against Cousin**
Nate Vance is a Republican, but he disagreed with his cousin’s views on the Ukrainian issue. He said that the White House meeting had been handled poorly and that it was unlikely his cousin would want to speak to him after his comments.
