**Two Jersey to Save Lives in Ukraine**

Volunteers from Jersey are traveling to Ukraine with two retired ambulances. Bob De La Haye, 73, and John Howl, 74, will take the vehicles to the country in -March.

The ambulances were donated by the States of Jersey. Mr. De La Haye, who delivered an ambulance to Ukraine in November, said that last time they also brought warm clothing, generators, tools, and medical supplies. These items were very well received.

Mr. De La Haye described the previous delivery as “hugely successful” and “moving”. The group will meet with charity Pick-Ups for the delivery. This charity has shipped over 525 vehicles to Ukraine. They estimate that about 10 people are saved by each vehicle delivered.

**The Journey Ahead**

Mr. Howl said their journey will be exciting as they travel through , Germany, and Poland before reaching Ukraine. He expects to feel humbled once in the country, seeing the suffering and sacrifices made by Ukrainians. The group will meet Pick-Ups For Peace in Poland and drive together to Ukraine.

**Saving Lives**

Mr. Howl said it could be of to vehicles when they arrive in Ukraine. A escort from the border will take them to the town where they’ll deliver the ambulances.
