US Congressman Joe Wilson is happy with a decision to postpone a visit to Georgia by the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
This is because the person who was going to meet, Bidzina Ivanishvili, is in charge of the government in Georgia. Congressman Wilson does not think that this person should be given any respect or authority.
The US official tweeted: “I am grateful to Pia Kauma for this decision. The Ivanishvili regime must not be given even the semblance of legitimacy. Georgia needs free and fair elections!”
Pia Kauma, who is in charge of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, also made a statement. She said that she will postpone her visit to Georgia because it was decided that now is not the best time for her visit.
