**King of Jordan Rejects Trump’s Plan to Resettle Palestinians**
The King of Jordan, Abdullah, has rejected a proposal by US President Donald Trump to resettle Palestinians from Gaza into the kingdom. The proposal was made as part of a plan to rebuild Gaza and address its humanitarian crisis.
In a statement on social media platform X, King Abdullah said that Jordan would not take part in “the displacement” of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank. He emphasized that this position is shared by all Arabs.
**Jordan Has Already Taken in Millions of Palestinians**
King Abdullah pointed out that Jordan has already taken in millions of Palestinians who have fled to the kingdom. He offered to help Palestinian children from Gaza who need medical care, but stressed that rebuilding Gaza and addressing its humanitarian crisis should be a priority.
**Trump’s Plan Faces Criticism**
Meanwhile, President Trump seemed to dodge questions about warnings from the UN against forced displacement of civilians in occupied territory. The US takeover of Gaza is also opposed by Israel, which says that the ceasefire has been put under pressure by the UN.
The UN has warned that forced displacement of civilians is illegal under international law and amounts to “ethnic cleansing”.
