**US Judge Stops Deportation of Student Who Protested for Palestinians**
A federal judge has stopped the Trump administration from arresting or deporting a Columbia University student who participated in pro-Palestinian protests.
Yunseo Chung, 21, is a legal resident who came to the US as a child from South Korea. She filed a lawsuit alleging that immigration officials carried out search warrants at multiple Columbia facilities, including her dormitory.
**Crackdown on Antisemitism**
The restraining order comes after another international student was arrested by immigration authorities near Boston. The Trump administration has intensified its crackdown on what it calls antisemitism in US colleges.
Mahmoud Khalil, a prominent pro-Palestinian activist and Columbia graduate, remains in prison without charge.
**Students Face Deportation**
The lawsuit filed by the Columbia student also names other students who face deportation. These include Cornell doctoral candidate Momodou Taal and Columbia international student Ranjani Shrinivasan, whose visa has been revoked.
**Universities Condemn Actions**
Tufts University said it had no prior knowledge of the arrest of a student outside an off-campus location on Tuesday. The university wants to confirm if the information is true.
Civil rights groups, including the ACLU, have condemned the actions of the administration. In an open letter sent to universities, the ACLU warned that the federal government cannot threaten funding cuts or mandate student expulsions to suppress constitutionally protected expression.
