**EU Criticizes Georgia’s Actions**
The European Union has expressed strong concern over the situation in Georgia. The country’s government has been cracking down on protesters, and EU officials say this is not acceptable.
“We need to see these people released,” said Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs. “Georgia’s actions are moving away from Europe, not towards it.”
The EU expects countries trying to join the union to follow certain values and take specific steps. Georgia has not been meeting these expectations, according to Kallas.
