EU foreign ministers meet in Brussels.
There was a lot of discussion at the meeting. The EU’s top official for foreign affairs, Kaja Kallas, said this after speaking to reporters.
Sanctions on Russia require agreement from all 27 EU countries. However, according to Kallas, they still don’t have that agreement.
The Commission suggested suspending visas for Russian officials with special passports. This would mean these people wouldn’t be able to travel freely in the EU anymore. Kallas said this was a first step and a way to show that something is being done.
Kallas said many countries wanted to do more, but they need everyone’s agreement before taking further action.
