Kakha Kaladze Reacts to Mzia Amaglobeli’s Detention
The Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, has spoken out about the detention of Mzia Amaglobeli. She is the founder of “Batumelebi.” According to Kaladze, she committed a crime.
Kaladze said: “Everyone can make a mistake. She could have come out and said, ‘I made a mistake, and I apologize.'” He emphasized that attacking a police officer and hitting them is unacceptable. This, he believes, is a serious offense that warrants punishment.
The police officer involved, Irakli Dgebuadze, was praised by Kaladze for his professionalism. He thanked the Ministry of Internal Affairs for their work in maintaining order and protecting the state’s integrity.
Kaladze also criticized others who had not spoken out against Amaglobeli’s actions. He accused them of hypocrisy and fascism. This was a reference to a previous incident involving Aleko Elisashvili, who inflicted physical harm on Mamuka Mdinaradze.
Mzia Amaglobeli has been on a hunger strike for 18 days.
