Tbilisi Mayor Attacks IRI Report
The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, has strongly criticized a report by the International Republican Institute (IRI). The report claimed that Georgia’s 2024 parliamentary elections were flawed.
Kaladze was not happy with the report. He said that it is actually the IRI organization that is fundamentally flawed, and its work is also wrong. He mentioned that the IRI had problems in the past, including fraud and lies.
In 2012, during Georgia’s presidential election, the IRI had released some survey results that were disputed by many people. Kaladze believes that this shows how unreliable the IRI can be.
The IRI published its report on December 23, saying that the elections were flawed. But Kaladze disagrees with their findings and thinks they are just trying to discredit Georgia’s election process.
