**Tbilisi Mayor: We Will Not Be Blackmailed**
The mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, spoke out on social media about the current political situation in Georgia. He emphasized that all decisions made by the government are aimed at protecting the country and its European future.
Kaladze said that he wanted to explain to citizens who don‘t understand the current process that the government has never taken a step against the interests of the country or its people. He added that all decisions have served and continue to serve the purpose of protecting Georgia’s sovereignty, independence, and freedom.
The mayor also addressed ordinary citizens who have suffered from the country in recent days. He acknowledged that there may have been miscommunication or misinformation from the government side, but emphasized that the path of European integration has always been clear.
**Signing the Document**
Kaladze stated that the Georgian government is ready to sign a document for the opening of negotiations with the EU today. However, he made it clear that the country will not be blackmailed into doing something against its interests or European future.
“We are a self-respecting nation,” Kaladze said. “We will not tolerate blackmail on the path of European integration.” He urged citizens to protest peacefully and democratically if they have any objections, rather than resorting to violence or insults.
