Kakha Kaladze, the Secretary General of the Georgian Dream and Mayor of Tbilisi, spoke at a session of the city council. He presented an annual report from the City Hall.
Kaladze said that hatred and aggression are being used by certain groups to achieve their goals. He mentioned Rustaveli Avenue as an example of this. There, groups like extremist organizations and opposition parties have been attacking people who want peace and development for the country.
These groups, according to Kaladze, target many people, including entrepreneurs, artists, athletes, scientists, students, and grandparents. They try to silence anyone with a different opinion by calling them names or labeling them as “Russian”.
Kaladze believes that this is an example of liberal fascism. He said that the state and society in Georgia must change. People should be able to have different opinions without being labeled enemies.
He also reminded everyone that no one has ever won with hatred. The civil conflict in Georgia has shown what happens when people are divided by hate. Kaladze wants to prevent this from happening again.
