Tbilisi Mayor Responds to Abu Dhabi Incident

Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha , has spoken out against violence after incident in Abu Dhabi involving three MPs. The MPs allegedly got into a physical altercation with a citizen.

Kaladze said that when are insulted, they should not just walk away. “A deputy or does not attack anyone,” he said. He also accused TV channel Arkhi of promoting violence and not condemning incidents of violence in the past.

The incident in Abu Dhabi reportedly occurred in a hotel dining area. Footage shows one of the MPs throwing food at the citizen and physically confronting him, with another MP joining in. The citizen had earlier exchanged verbal insults with the MPs, calling them “ slaves”.

Kaladze said that violence will always be met with an appropriate response. He pointed out that no official has ever attacked a citizen without facing consequences. He also accused Mtavari Arkhi of not standing up for journalists who were of violence.

The video statement by the citizen involved in the altercation has been shared social media, showing both sides exchanging insults before the physical confrontation occurred.
