**Europe Won’t Be Directly Involved in Ukraine-Russia Negotations**
The Trump administration‘s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, said that Europe will not be directly involved in negotiations to end Russia’s war in Ukraine. However, its interests will still be considered.
Kellogg made these comments on February 15 at the Munich Security Conference. He mentioned the Minsk II deal of 2015, which aimed to stop Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but ultimately failed.
**U.S. Will Help Ukraine, But Killing Must Stop**
Kellogg stressed that the U.S. will continue to help Ukraine, and that “the killing must be stopped.” He also said that President Trump wants a peace deal, but is not willing to give up important interests.
**Russia’s War Could End This Year**
Kellogg claimed that Russia’s war against Ukraine could end even this year. He pledged to engage all parties in 180 days to try to achieve this goal.
**No European Allies Involved in Peace Talks**
Despite President Volodymyr Zelensky‘s wish for European allies to be involved in peace negotiations, Europe will not directly participate. The Kremlin has emphasized that it views the U.S. as its “main counterpart” in efforts to end the war.
**Russia Continues Drone Attacks on Ukraine**
Russian forces launched 70 drones at Ukraine overnight, causing damage and casualties. Ukraine’s Air Force reported 1,180 Russian casualties over the past day.
