The Faktor Druk printing house Kharkiv, Ukraine has been fully restored after being heavily damaged by a Russian missile attack last year. The restoration was made possible with the help of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation.

May 23, 2024, struck the printing facility, killing seven people and injuring 21. The attack also destroyed over 50,000 books and vital printing equipment. Faktor Druk is one of the largest full-cycle printing complexes in Europe and is part of the Faktor Group, which includes Vivat, Ukraine’s third-largest publishing house.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the restoration on March 20. She said that the facility was restored with the help of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, which provided financing for the project.

**Russia Continues to Attack Ukraine**

Despite the restoration of Faktor Druk, Russia continues to attack Ukraine. On March 20, Russian forces launched a drone attack on the cities of Saratov and Engels in Russia, causing a fire at a local airfield. Ukrainian forces intercepted 75 of the 171 drones launched during the attack.

Russia has also been launching attacks on other parts of Ukraine. President Zelensky said that Russian forces had launched their “largest attack in recent years” on Kropyvnytskyi in Oblast, causing significant damage and casualties.

**International Community Continues to Support Ukraine**

The international community continues to support Ukraine. The European Commission has pledged to supply Ukraine with at least 2 million shells annually, and will seek out more international partners to help build shelters for Ukrainian civilians affected by Russian aerial attacks.

Ukrainian and officials are also expected to meet in Saudi Arabia in the coming days for continued peace talks. President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked Donald Trump for additional air defense systems to protect Ukrainian civilians, particularly Patriot missile systems.
