Local authorities claim that Russian forces targeted residential areas, educational facilities and critical infrastructure in the Kherson Oblast during the pas day.
Roman Mrochko of the Kherson Military Administration said that the entire city of Kherson was without power on 16th October.
According to the regional electricity company, 272,000 subscribers were left without power in the Mykolaiv oblast. On 15 October, Russian forces attacked Mukolaiv with seven S-300/400 rockets.
The attacks against Kherson are persistent. Oleksandr Prokudin is the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration. He said that 14 settlements within the Kherson Oblast were subjected to enemy fire and airstrikes in the past day.
According to Prokudin the Russians targeted an infrastructure facility of critical importance, an educational institution and administrative building in the region.
He said that six people had been injured by the Russian attacks.
On 12 October, Russian troops struck one of Kherson’s neighborhoods. They caused a large-scale blaze at a warehouse, and a storage area for production scraps.
