10% of National Police personnel is engaged in combat missions at the front lines. Interior Minister Ihor klymenko reported this in an interview with Suspilne. Censor.NET relayed the report.
“Another 25 percent of police officers, or about a quarter of all personnel, serve directly in regions where combat is active–Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, Kharkiv region, Kherson region, and Sumy region,” said the head of Ukraine‘s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Klymenko also mentioned that the Armed Forces Command is using the rifle units of the National Police to perform various tasks as support for Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
“There are also border guards and police units on the border with Belarus.” About 40-45% are currently engaged in roles that are not typical of police officers. Some officers in the rear regions are rotated periodically to perform combat tasks, such as demining operations.
