Georgian Prime Minister Criticized NGOs
The prime minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, has criticized some non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the country. He claims they are trying to punish Georgian people for supporting his party.
Kobakhidze said that these NGOs and the opposition want the European Union to stop giving visa-free travel to Georgians. This is according to a report from the McCain Institute, which Kobakhidze used as proof.
The prime minister says that some NGOs have been working with the opposition to promote a political agenda that hurts the Georgian people. He claims this group wants to punish them for supporting his party, Georgian Dream.
Kobakhidze also pointed out that some opposition groups had previously opposed visa liberalization and now want to stop it.
