Kyiv gets lists of missing Ukrainian soldiers from Qatar, says Ombudsman

Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets stated on October 24 that Ukraine received a list containing the names of missing Ukrainian soldiers, thanks to Qatar’s mediation.
Lubinets announced the news on his , after visiting Qatar and meeting Lolwah al-Khater.
The Gulf country acted previously as a mediator to bring back Ukrainians illegally detained by .
Lubinets didn’t specify in his statement if the lists were given to Qatar by Moscow, or the status of those listed as missing soldiers.
He also received letters from Ukrainian POWs for their families, and discussed the possibility to speed up the exchange of POWs between Kyiv & Moscow.
Lubinets stated that the parties agreed to offer assistance to civilians who are in difficult situations, such as restoring their personal documents.
As of late September, the Interior Ministry of Ukraine had 55,000 citizens on its list of people missing in special circumstances. The register includes those who have disappeared because of war, occupation or natural and human-made disasters.
In his statement, Ukraine’s Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets didn’t specify whether the lists had been provided to Qatar by Moscow, or the status of those listed as missing soldiers.
