**Ukrainian Lawyer Detained for Aiding Russian Missile Strikes**
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained a lawyer from Dnipro, suspected of helping Russia with missile strikes against the city. The SBU said this on January 22.
The lawyer is known to be well-established in the local community. However, the agency did not reveal his identity. He was described as one of the most deeply undercover FSB agents in the region.
**Suspect Accused of Providing Coordinates**
The suspect was detained while trying to flee across the Polish border at the Krakivets checkpoint. He is accused of providing Russia with coordinates for a strike that killed six people and seriously injured 30 on December 29, 2023, in Dnipro.
The attack damaged several buildings, including a shopping center, maternity hospital, and high-rise buildings. The suspect provided information on the consequences of the attack and gave coordinates for another strategic facility in Dnipro.
**Suspect Maintained Contact with Russian Officials**
The lawyer maintained contact with a senior member of the Russian occupation administration in Crimea and with FSB officers. He was charged with treason and justifying Russian aggression, which carries a life sentence.
Dnipro is an important city in Ukraine’s central-eastern region, serving as a logistics and medical hub for the front since the outbreak of the full-scale invasion. The city has been targeted by multiple deadly drone and missile strikes since 2022.
