**Georgian Dream Gives Warning to Giorgi Gakharia’s Team**
The deputy chairman of the “Georgian Dream” faction, Levan Machavariani, has given a warning to Giorgi Gakharia’s team. They have until May to participate in parliamentary activities or their mandates will be automatically revoked.
Machavariani stated that if they submit a resignation request before then, it will be immediately approved by the parliamentary majority. He made this comment after Gakharia’s team members put up “cards” with critical messages about the “Georgian Dream”. The “United National Movement” responded to these cards by removing them.
Machavariani said that Gakharia has formed a coalition with the “United National Movement” in four municipalities. He believes that Gakharia tried to distance himself from this movement with the banners, but was then bullied and had to remove them.
**Background on Mandate Revocation**
In November last year, 49 MPs had their parliamentary mandates revoked after submitting personal resignation statements. These MPs were part of the “Unity – United National Movement”, “Coalition for Change“, and “Strong Georgia” parties.
Gakharia’s team, known as “Gakharia for Georgia”, still holds 12 mandates in Parliament. However, they have declared the October 26 elections illegitimate and do not participate in parliamentary activities.
