**Bidzina Ivanishvili Sanctioned for Being a Peacekeeper**
Levan Matchavariani, Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, spoke out against sanctions imposed on Bidzina Ivanishvili. According to him, being sanctioned is actually something to be proud of.
Matchavariani explained that Ivanishvili had been under unofficial sanctions for three years. He claims this was done as a way to blackmail Ivanishvili and prevent him from using his money to cause unrest in Georgia. However, Matchavariani sees the current sanctions as a positive thing.
He believes it’s an honor to be sanctioned when you’re defending your country’s interests and putting personal gain aside. In fact, he says the Georgian Dream faction is grateful to Ivanishvili for this.
