Lithuania has announced an additional allocation of EUR13million for recovery projects in Ukraine. This brings its total support since the beginning of the war to nearly EUR1.5billion. The country continues to provide humanitarian, financial and military aid.
The Lithuanian government approved EUR13million to support recovery projects in Ukraine. According to Delfi, the funds will be directed towards the Lithuanian Development Cooperation Fund to provide humanitarian assistance.
UkrInform reported that Lithuania has provided Ukraine nearly EUR1.5 billion worth of military, financial and humanitarian aid since the beginnings of the Russian War.
“Since 2022, when the full-scale conflict began, we have implemented recovery projects in Ukraine, in education, energy and other sectors, through the Development Cooperation Fund,” stated Lithuania’s Minister for Finance Gintare Scaiste.
The official stressed that Lithuania wants to “encourage international partners to do the similar without waiting for war’s ending, thus strengthening hope and belief for Ukrainians about a safe and prosperous tomorrow.”
The Lithuanian Ministry of Finance has announced that nearly EUR24 million of the country’s budget has already been allocated to finance recovery projects in Ukraine.
These projects included the renovation of an Irpin school, construction of a kindergarten at Borodianka and repair of the “Ruta Kindergarten”.
