**Georgia’s Foreign Minister Warns of Threat to Europe**
The principles that underpin the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe are facing big challenges. Georgia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Maka Bochorishvili, made this clear during a recent meeting with other OSCE ministers.
**Russia’s Actions in Ukraine a Repeat of Those in Georgia**
Georgia became one of the first countries to suffer from Russia’s disregard for international norms, said Minister Bochorishvili. This happened when 20% of Georgia was occupied by Russia. The minister believes that the ongoing war in Ukraine is a continuation of Russia’s aggressive actions in Georgia.
**Human Rights and Security Issues in Occupied Territories**
The Russian occupation of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region has caused big problems for the people living there, said Minister Bochorishvili. There are security concerns, as well as issues with human rights and humanitarian aid. The minister reminded everyone that a 2008 EU-brokered ceasefire agreement is still not being implemented.
**International Community Must Get Involved**
Minister Bochorishvili emphasized the importance of international involvement in solving this conflict. She believes that international security mechanisms should be present in occupied territories to ensure safety and respect for human rights.
**Georgia Appreciates International Support**
The Georgian government values its partners’ support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, said Minister Bochorishvili. She hopes that the search for peaceful solutions to the Russia-Georgia conflict will continue to get international attention.
