**Georgia’s History Under Threat**
The people of Georgia came together on March 31, 1991, to decide their country’s fate. They voted unanimously for independence from the Soviet Union. Now, Russia is trying to rewrite this history.
According to Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of Lelo – Strong Georgia, the freedom won by Georgians with blood is still in danger today. He writes on social media that Russia is using an anti-state commission created in a fake parliament to alter the country’s proud history.
**A Nation’s Sacrifices**
Khazaradze notes that Georgia’s journey to independence was long and difficult. The nation faced sacrifices, lost territories, destroyed families, and exile. However, despite these challenges, the Georgian people continued to fight for their freedom and national identity.
He also remembers the heroes who fought in the August 2008 war against Russian forces. These soldiers gave their lives to protect Georgia from Russian occupation.
**Danger Looms Again**
Today, Khazaradze believes that freedom is once again under threat. He calls on the Georgian people to unite and stand up for their rights.
“We are a nation born to win,” he writes. “We will inevitably be so!”
Georgia remains an independent and sovereign state. However, Russia’s actions through its anti-state commission are a threat to this hard-won freedom.
**A Call to Action**
Khazaradze demands a complete boycott of the Russian commission’s efforts. He also labels Russia as the enemy and calls for unity among Georgians.
His post ends with a reference to Antsukhelidze, a famous figure in Georgian history who is considered immortal.
