Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of “Strong Georgia”, has announced a 9-point list that was agreed upon by Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of “Gakharia for Georgia” party. Khazaradze shared the list on his Facebook page, stating that it was their joint plan to save the European path for Georgia. The plan, called the “Georgian Charter”, includes coming together with one election number 9 in the parliamentary elections and continuing the fight for the country’s future.
The two parties have also agreed not to form a coalition with the ruling “Georgian Dream” party and to form the next government in consultation with the president. Gakharia himself will not be on the party list of “Strong Georgia”. Khazaradze has also expressed his willingness to take a similar step if needed.
In terms of distributing mandates, Khazaradze and Gakharia’s teams will equally share the list, with the remaining mandates being distributed to other members of the coalition from both sides. This will be done according to the principle of 10-10 “Lelo”/Gakharia, with the top positions being equally divided between the coalition partners.
Khazaradze has also stated that the two parties will be joining forces, with Gakharia’s party’s program priorities being integrated into the “Strong Georgia” program. Gakharia’s team will also support the program and its main messages during the election campaign, including the completion of the Anaklia project with the help of Western partners.
Regarding the events of June 20 and the controversial letter, Khazaradze has stated that after the removal of the “Georgian Dream” party from the government, their cooperation will be subject to investigation by an independent prosecutor’s office. He has also proposed the creation of a council to address major strategic issues, where both Khazaradze and Gakharia’s teams will be equally represented, along with other members of the coalition.
In conclusion, Khazaradze has emphasized the importance of this unification for the country’s future and has expressed his commitment to working together with Gakharia’s team to achieve their shared goals.
