“The results of these elections, which are recognized by the international community to be a legitimate expression the will of Georgians, should be accepted by everyone,” said Mamuka Khazaradze, leader of “Strong Georgia”.
Khazaradze pointed out that all reliable polls show the opposition winning the elections. This fact is also known by the ruling party.
“Two weeks remain before the elections.” The Georgian people alone will determine the final outcome of the elections. It is obvious that the opposition will win these elections. All reliable surveys confirm it. This fact is also well-known to “Georgian Dream”, and this is what causes their panic and fear. The majority of voters know that they don’t want “Georgian Dream”, to be in power. This will be proved by fair elections and a fair counting of votes.
We want to send a clear message to all political parties. Georgia will be the center of attention on October 26 and in the days following. We have the duty to represent Georgia with dignity and ensure our people’s safety. In these elections, we follow the path of Ilia Chachatavdze with an unwavering belief that Georgians should stand together in difficult circumstances.
We therefore call today on the ruling party not to engage in any violence or violate the country’s electoral law and constitution. I, on behalf all the leaders of “Strong Georgia”, call on our members and supporters to first set an example for decent behavior. We warn “Georgian Dream”, that we will not allow you to manipulate votes or physically intimidate voters. We will also strictly respond to any such attempts. The international community will recognize the results of the election as a legitimate expression by the Georgian people. But they should be acceptable to all.
We have a simple message to voters: don’t stay home! Attend the elections! Your vote is crucial in this election. No matter which party you are, please participate in this important process for the nation,” Khazaradze stated.
