Historic Day for US and Georgia
Today is a big day in the United States. A new president, Donald Trump, has started his job as the 45th President of the country.
What does this mean for Georgia? A leader named Mamuka Khazaradze says it’s very important for our country too. He thinks that after elections are held here, Georgia will become friends with the US again.
The US and Georgia have a special relationship called a “strategic partnership“. This means they work together on many things. But right now, this friendship is not as strong as it could be.
Khazaradze says he’s met with US officials before and they’ve told him they don‘t like the government in Georgia because it’s led by people who are friendly with Russia.
A new president can make a big difference in how countries work together. So, Khazaradze is hoping that Trump will help strengthen the friendship between the US and Georgia.
