Mamuka Mdinaradze, the leader of Georgia’s parliamentary majority, has spoken out against those who are trying to hide behind a politician’s name. He is referring to Archil Tatunashvili, a former minister.
Mdinaradze says that these people want to blame other soldiers for war crimes during the 2008 conflict with Russia. They are trying to cover up their own mistakes by stirring up hysteria.
According to Mdinaradze, the National Movement party failed to warn people in two regions about Russian attacks. This led to thousands of deaths. Two months after the war, they supported a resolution that said Georgia started the war. Georgian soldiers were accused of war crimes.
Mdinaradze is accusing these people of trying to cover up their own mistakes by blaming others for war crimes. He says this is not right and it’s like using anti-human forces.
The leader has also spoken out against people who insult him online. He says some people try to manipulate public opinion with low tricks.
