**Opposition Uses Suspension of Visa Liberalization as Excuse**
The opposition in Georgia sees the suspension of visa liberalization as a way to delay the current situation in the country. This was stated by Mamuka Mdinaradze, leader of the parliamentary majority.
According to Mdinaradze, the opposition is trying to use the European Union‘s foreign affairs meeting on December 17 as an excuse. The EU was supposed to consider suspending visa liberalization for Georgia. However, Mdinaradze said this is “out of the question”.
**No Legal Grounds for Suspension**
Mdinaradze stated that there are no legal grounds for suspending visa liberalization in Georgia’s case. He claimed that even if there were such grounds, they would not have been allowed.
The opposition sees starting a conversation about suspending visa liberalization as a lifeline to delay the current situation in Georgia before the inauguration of the US President.
**Speculative Move**
Mdinaradze described this move by the opposition as speculative. He stated that it is just an excuse to delay the current situation in Georgia.
