Marketa Gregorova, a European parliamentarian, advises the opposition on how to use the mandates they have obtained through elections and their work in the Parliament.
She said this in response to the question of whether she considered the parliament legitimate if the opposition announced a boycott of its work.
“I am not a judge or a lawyer. I don’t even know how Georgian law regulates this issue. But I tried to encourage the opposition to get their seat in the Parliament, which they did because of the support from many voters who believed that they should be there. If for some reason they are unable to continue working, which is possible, they can leave the Parliament, but I hope they will first try to work.
If the opposition has stated that they do not recognise the results, I expect them to take legal action and apply to Constitutional Court,” said Gregorova.
