**Journalist Attacked by Armed Officer**
A journalist was attacked by an armed Ministry of Interior officer in Georgia. Gela Mtivlishvili, editor-in-chief of the “Mtis Ambebi” publication, was traveling on a highway when a white pickup truck chased his car. The driver stopped to avoid an accident and the armed officer jumped out, cursing and threatening him.
**Video Footage Shows Attack**
The attack was caught on video by eyewitnesses. The officer can be seen attacking Mtivlishvili and trying to take his phone. The journalist said that when he tried to film the incident, the officer hit him three times.
**Media Advocacy Coalition Condemns Attack**
The Media Advocacy Coalition has condemned the attack on Mtivlishvili. They say that it shows that media representatives in Georgia work in a dangerous environment where their lives and health are at risk. The organization is supporting Mtivlishvili and all journalists who continue to inform the public and protect democracy, despite threats and attacks.
**Worsening Situation for Independent Journalists**
The Media Advocacy Coalition says that since protests against the Foreign Agents Law, the situation for independent journalists has gotten worse. They accuse the ruling Georgian Dream party of systematically using violence against the people and independent media.
